Question regarding Samurai Empires
Question regarding Samurai Empires
I am sure this has been addressed some where how ever i can not find it. I am working as a scripter on a POL 95 server and we are trying to add many features from Samurai Empire such as the new items. For example we can make a robe that looks like a kimono until you put it on at which point it again uses the robe animation and robe graphic on the paper doll. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Question regarding Samurai Empires
Still nothing? Oh well back to trial and error. If anyone does come up with something please let me know.
Re: Question regarding Samurai Empires
This may be a stupid question, but have you got all the Samurai Empire MUL files on the server, and pathed in POL.CFG ?
You may also want to investigate the servspecopt.cfg file, in particular the UOFeatureEnable=(x) flag.
There's a possibility you may also need to send the correct packet to the Client on logon.

Re: Question regarding Samurai Empires
It may be allot of work but Pol97 may be the way to go.
Re: Question regarding Samurai Empires
I haven't any experience with adding the SE items to POL 0.95 but I'd hazard a guess that, like runtest said, you'd be better off moving to POL 0.97. However, thinking about it, just adding graphics such as tile and gumpart should work fine. I found that many of the 'wearable' AoS/SE items don't map properly or at all to gumpart. Some of the kimonos just don't show-up at all on the paprdoll. I don't know why, they just don't. Also, all of the 'creature specialty' weapons, ie. daemon sword, orc club (I think there was one of those in the art.mul), etc. don't map to any gumpart either.
I encourage you to convert to POL 0.97 though. I know it's a MAJOR hassle for existing 'legacy' POL scripts but it is sooooo much better. If for no other reason than the fact that the problems of map errors and invisible pits where players get stuck are pretty much gone. Besides you'll be running the latest version of the best ever UO emulator out there.
