Need help with armor-configuration

Post by abraxas »

Hi there,

I already gained some experience in POL-scripting but I still can't work out how the configuration of the armor-pieces work.

I used the search-mask and found something about "maxhp_mod", "maxhp", "hp", "AR" etc. But if I take an piece of Armor with an "AR"-Value of 30, it simply gives me 13 AR. Somehow I just can't figure it out.

Can anyone give me a simple explanation how the final AR-Value of a specific piece of armor like a metal breastplate is computed out of all the other variables?

It's based on coverage. I believe that the displayed AR is the average AR of the entire body. If you only make a breastplate with 40 AR, then the displayed AR will be 40/(Number of armor layers).

Allright, thanks so far

So I have to multiply the AR-Value I want the item to have with a certain quotient in order get the umber I have to set item.AR to. I already checked this out on my local Server with some Breastplates made of different metal types.

So the next question is: does anyone have the quotients I need already at hand? As far as I can see this would be:

Arms
Body => figured about 0,42 here.
Body|Arms
Hands
Head
Head|Neck
Legs|Feet
Neck

"::armrzone.cfg" defines coverage under "Chance" as

Arms: 14%
Body: 44%
Hands: 7%
Head: 14%
Neck: 7%
Legs/Feet: 14%
