Post by Duttones »

Hi,
Recently i have update my pol core from 098 to 099. Unfortunately, the update comes with the follow problem:

Like you can see, the lights don't show itself like expected. Anyone knows how to fix it?

Edit: ah, curiosity, the lanterns and posts who are statics shows properly.

Which 099 are you using? The precompiled one from the web page? I think this was fixed in the svn already.

change the facing member of the lanterns (item.facing). To see all of the numbers available and what they do, use UOFiddler and look at the light tab.

CWO, The problem is in POL. I reported this same error months ago, sent the patch to someone... to Kevin, I think... and he committed the changes to svn. It has been fixed for months, but the binaries on the web page haven't been updated in years.

Well, that's how I fixed lights on my server. I just changed the facing member to the correct looking one and they worked fine after that.

On a bugged POL 099, changing the facing will change the item's graphic, not the lighting.

There was 1 more big problem about the lights.

The core was never reading the correct values entered in tiledata, it used 0 as default and thats why the lights look like that.
Its now fixed in the latest SVN Revision

there's a way to resolve this light/facing problem without upgrade core to svn ?
because we can't upgrade (too much work) and the light problem is the only bug we have.
