What client version(s) are currently supported by POL?

Post by Yukiko »

Hello everyone. I haven't been here in a long time.

I want to get up to speed on the current status of POL so I have a few questions.

What is the latest client version supported by POL (will it work with Stygian Abyss Enhanced Client for example)?

How can I remove encryption from the latest supported client or do I even have to?

I am not very adept at compiling C code so I was wondering if there is a guide for compiling the POL server source and/or has anyone compiled POL with the latest patch submissions? I started to make the attempt to compile POL but I got lost during the process of trying to get all the required libraries for MS Visual Studio. Maybe MS VS isn't the best choice to use to compile POL. I do want to be able to compile the code myself so help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome back Yukiko, we missed you :D

I think you can find the latest supported client version in POL changelogs.

And I also think that UO Client Hacker, which you can find on these very forums, can also remove encryption from the latest UO client.

Let us know ;)
