UO: SA on POL99 - successful stories?

I apologize for abusing the community help so much.
I have question if anyone can recall a successful case of running UO: Stygian Abyss on POL99. I tried it with Distro98+POL99 a SA client with removed encryption. I only managed to move a couple of tiles before the client hangs. Though I did not dig it deep enough.
Is it generally possible to provide a stable game-play on pol99 with SA client?

I would appreciate any comments.
