skill gains

So, i have problem with skill gains how i can make skills gain faster/slower ?
I read topic (http://forums.polserver.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=121), and find there some code , but all what i tried don't help me, i cant find where i must insert that code, i also tried to delete files
\scripts\include\attributes.inc
\pkg\foundations\hooks\checkskill.cfg
but that don't give to me any results =(((

Help me please somebody.
I'm knew that Core 095 is no longer officially supported, but please make exception for my question.

Check your checkskill function. And see how it is called in the skill scripts. Should be a value when it is called that determines how many points you gain and so on.
