Mail system

Anyone written a mail system for players in-game?
This would be for scripts and GMs to notify players of events when they next log in - eg. Your pet Fluffie died at 3431, 1121 in Britannia. Killed by Orc etc. Or so that a GM could answer a GM page.
Players could scroll through their messages, read and delete them.

Fantastic.
I owe you yet another one. I hope you aren't counting the debt.

I just want to say something about TSSE. If you haven't downloaded it and looked at it then you are missing out on a goldmine of useful things. I admit I haven't looked into it deeply but I'll tell you there's some VERY helpful stuff in there just in the utility functions alone.

Most of those functions are already in the 097 distro and greatly improved too.

But not the mail system?
I will take a look at this after work today.

Well, either way Austin, it's a good resource for those of us who are a hybrid between current Distro and POL 95 Distro.

I see Austin (or someone) added the mail system to the 97 Distro. Atleast that's what the latest svn update appeared to download. Haven't had a chanbce to look at it yet.

Hey Kiko, you gotta subscribe to this
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/lis ... svnupdates
Gives you emails telling you whats going on with the distro SVN.
Im rewriting it to be better coded =)

I guess I should.
I've been busy incorporating your new versions of the GM tools into my existing scriptbase. I love the way they look. 'iteminfo' and 'go' are very nice. Can't seem to get 'info' to display a skill list yet but that's no biggie.
I figure eventually I'll have to migrate to the full Distro of 97. Hopefully by the time I do that I'll have learned the lay of the land and figured out your new gump system.
*laughs*
Like I understand the old gump system.
*laughs harder*

Just subscribe to the 097 distro.... it's gotta be worth it. Do it NOW!
Austin is currently updating the TSSE version of email to work on 097.
Just watching along as he makes the changes is a great way to learn.
I'm having to get it working on 095 right now, but I can see lots of nice things that can be changed for 097 already.

Kiko, on line 219 of info.src
var attributes := AP_ListAttributesByType(type);
Thats most likely where you're having issues if youre moving it into a different code-base. You could do something like..
var attrib_cfg := ReadConfigFile(":*:attributes");
var attributes := GetConfigStringKeys(attrib_cfg);
That would work on any script base as far as showing all attributes of any type.
