Which version for new shard

Post by xaw »

Hi everyone!
I want to start developing my own shard. In past I used POL 98. Now I can see that there is a POL 99.
So my question is which version of POL is better to start creating new shard? 99 or 98?

Hi,

this is starting to become kinda a FAQ... goods news, it means many people asking for this :)

Long Story short:
- POL098 is the last official stable release, but is quite old
- POL099 beta release that you can find on the website is quite old too
- Latest POL099 from git is very stable, but has no distro

So, in my opinion, your best choice is POL098 if you want to start from scratch or POL099/git if you already have your scriptset to use and are able to compile the core yourself.

Rumours are there will (finally) be a new POL099 beta release soon.

P.S: Welcome! :grouphug:

I do not know about official support but, in my personal experience, I have successfully ran it with latest official client about one month ago.

No, I didn't touch anything on the client.

Have a look at this: http://forums.polserver.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5592
