If a player has their graphic changed (eg into a beast) there won't be any mounted animations.
The v4 client handles this okay. It just ignores the mount and animal just moves faster.
However on the v5 client it has no idea what to do and so the character is invisible during movement.
The obvious answer here is to prevent players mounting anything when not in player graphic form. However, what's actually causing it - anyone know why v4 was ok and if it's a def file on the client I can mess with? Or is it somehow tied up with the animxlate.cfg on the server which I only use in combat anyway??
