Hi,

First i'd like to say that i am quite new at all this :) but i am wondering if it is possible to put in a custom map on a core95 shard? if so, is it hard to do? i searched quite some topics but none that specifically explain if its possible or how to do it.

also if anyone has a working link for zhfa for core95 or world of dreams that they could/would kindly post? :)

Thx in advance

Hum, that shall not be that hard to get you started with Pol.

Yes you can run your own custom maps with Pol.

Pol095 will automatically look at your Mul files directory set in pol.cfg and load it. But using Pol095 will not enable multiple realms. Pol096 core and higher will be the result if you look forward with multiple realms. Goodluck and welcome.

so i am guessing that the directory it looks at for (custom)map files is where uo is installed?

i'm perfectly happy with no multiple maps :) i don't really like all the aos/se/ml stuff, just some graphics & deco maybe. I also tried to run core97 but its being evil to me, so i decided to start off in 95.

also if anyone could/would be so kind to post a link to an older client that would work on 95? like client 2.0.0b i think? :)

Thx again in advance, and ty for the custom map help :)

You can define a specific directory for your mul files in pol.cfg, and yes they could be different of your client files. But keep in mind the server files take the priority so if there is a wall and not your client... you will fall down :withstupid: . I will release my old version of Fantasia soon. So forget about bugged version of zuluhotel (zhfa, zhs, ... ) :)

thx for both replies :)

The reason i am looking for zhfa or world of dreams files/scripts is of its class/race system that i like and the skills that go with the classes.
ie. a mage can cap magery to 110/120 influenced by the race but a warrior cant, and the other way around for warrior skills.

also how skills are trained is what interests me, drop gold on a npc and it trains overtime.

Another question:

after i put in my custom map, how do i get rid of the regular uo map spawns, npcs, vendors? do i just empty the spawn script and region script? or will that caus a huge error for pol to run (will it crash/close on startup)? or do i just redo the entire spawn and region files right away after the map is in?

Thx again in advance :)

I'm not sure about what you are using but I will definitively let you know that you can organize everything by yourself... You can delete your data files if you want a fresh start. And if you are using distro 095 I think you will have to look your spawnregion configuration files to remove stuff. Read the distro files and learn from it ;) that will get you started for now. :). My computer is next to me with all the stuff you would like to have but I'm too lazy to connect internet on it for now hehe..

Thanks a bunch for all the replies Edwards, they helped alot :)

Now i got two more questions, one of them may come over very newbie-like

First, after adding my custom map and using the statics0.pol files the map kind of bugged, ie. i would fall through bridges and get stuck on normal roads randomly (like you run into a wall thats not there), after disabling pol to make & use those files the map turned out to be perfect, is this normal or not?

Second, if i try to add a new weapon, like a new bow with a different name, i add it to pkg\systems\combat\itemdesc.cfg, but when i create the weapon in-game it looks like a sword, how do i define it so it looks like the weapon i want? i tried various number sets (the normal bow is defined as 0x13B2) if i change that for my new bow type it doesnt look like a bow :(

Thx again in advance :)

WoD 0.95 can be downloaded from my site at http://www.hopelives.us/Files/wod95.zip

I believe this is the last release Drocket made available before he abandoned WoD.
