Setting up Pol96

Post by Matrix »

Hi, I have a small problem here when I've tried to run POL096. At first, I tried to convert distroPOL095 with corePOL096. Then, I've run UOConvert.. But I had this in console:

POL096.4b-2006-10-29 Vestal Virgin (VS.NET 2003) compiled on Oct 29 2006 02:11:58
Copyright (C) 1993-2006 Eric N. Swanson

Reading Configuration.
Loading Realm britannia.
Server Shutdown: loading POL map file
Execution aborted due to: BinaryFile::Open('realm/britannia/statidx.dat, 0x8) failed.

And I could be "tagged" as a newbie because I really don't know what is dbghelp.dll
At the beginning, the console say:

Warning: DBGHELP.DLL too old, version 5.1+ required.

Could anyone help me please.

First of all, it seems like the files didnt get run through UOConvert correctly. Open up the realm folder in your POL path. Is there a folder named britannia? Make sure you run all commands for britannia through UOConvert. Maybe you have to run it again.

Second... dbghelp.dll, To download it, go here http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/pol ... est/files/
then go to "Old Core Extras (to 095)" and it will be the first file listed under there dbghelp.zip.

Concerning the uoconvert problem.
Try to use the static file fixer on your statics first and then try to uoconvert them.

if the file doesnt exist, rerun UOConvert. It should run for quite a while if its working correctly and generate those files.
