Long time gone lots of new frustrations

Post by MistWolf »

hey guys i have been out of the pol scene for a huge amount of time i come back and expected a few changes but this is insane

to start its good to see that my beloved POL is still going strong i originally started back in .90 -.93 time frame and checked out for a bit and came back around .97 era dropped off the map and im trying to get back in the motions

im stronger with the script development area so i have an interesting perspective

at anyrate i doubt there is many that have been around long enough to remember me and the ones that have been here long enough have seen so many in and out it wouldnt matter to remember me

either way im rolling up my sleeves and hoping to see if i can get some stuff going

but first i need to get myself going and one of the first things i am bumping my head into a wall over is what seems to be a change in the mul files

first i have double checked the forums and seems that they have changed to a hsa format and then created a legacy file out of them called uop

this is fairly readily available information with a little searching

but here is my question because the way im looking at it most noobs will get frustrated at what i just went through

now i do know that the main change from the .mul files happened around march of 2012 but i would like to know so that it is all one place

what is last known client version that is compatible with 099
also another thing i noticed is that most of the decryptors have all but vanished

what and where is the last known decryptor and what is the last client version that the decryptor is compatable with it

I use client version 7.0.7.1. That's Stygian Abyss Classic. I don't know if that's the latest version compatible with POL.

The decryptor I use is UO Decryptor. The link points to the RunUO forums where the author has posted the download link as well as the source code for the program.

According to http://www.uoguide.com/List_of_Classic_Client_Patches they changed the patcher to fully use .uop instead of .mul files happened with 7.0.25.0 but there can be changes to support it even before that ( cant remember, too long time ago when I last checked into it )

About the Decryptors, UOCH found on these forums even removes encryption of the latest classic clients ( after .uop changes, no changes were made to the client encryptions ) and Pol also support ( latest 099 atleast from SVN ) encrypted clients, so basically no decryptors needed.
