Wow!

I only had little time to try it out, but so far it looks to be at least as good as InsideUO, thus worth the use. I'll spread the word.

I like the Cliloc viewer, the scrollable list of gumps (its a bitch waiting for InsideUO to take a moment to load up a gump piece before you're able to see it and only being able to see one at a time), and the sound list being sortable by number. Very nice program. A worthy successor to InsideUO.

I am interested in viewing the source for this. Can you also let me know where you got the SDK for this?

What little I have played with this it seems to be a great idea and a good replacement for InsideUO.

The SDK source can be found in runuo forums. I started with v2.0 and synced a few days ago with v2.2.

Since i'm no c# expert the sourcecode probably has some optimation potential, but it works :)

Edit:
Source removed can now be found in distrosvn

Looks nice. I like the Cliloc Editor. The Gump Editor is MUCH improved over InsideUO.

However, land tiles are skewed, and both land and items are very hard to see. Maybe my eyes are just getting old, but having them the actual proper size and dimensions would help. Sort of strange that no one else mentioned this, so maybe it looks fine on other systems?

Land tiles are displayed in proper size (44x44) and mmmh skewed cant see any wrong with them.
Item are shrinked because i wanted a quick overview (46x46) if you doubleclick them you can see the real size. Maybe an option to set the size for the older people, so everone can set it to something he can see? :)

It seems fine that they are shrunk down to me but my only gripe against it is that its not proportionally shrunk down. It comes out shrunk more vertically than horizontally so you get the short and fat image effect. InsideUO displays the items in boxes of the same size but InsideUO lets the items stretch to outside of the box instead of making them fit into it.

I'll give that another go when I get off work and let you know how these old eyes take to the changes. Cheers!

Afraid I didn't see any change, even when changing the ItemSize to 64x64 or 128x128 for these old eyes. Attached is an image of InsideUO, with your UOViewer inset. It'll show you better than I can explain. :)

Ok.. i think with your eyes is everything fine. Do you use Mono and not .net ?
It should look like this, with ItemClip true and 48x48:

My installation looks identical to yours, Turley, no problem at all.
I have .Net 1.1 installed, if I am not mistaken.

Thanks again for an excellent utility!

Since downloading the new version, I see it as Turley's pics.

About time you hit us with a version number to avoid all this!

Nope, I'm running .Net. Adjusting the item size does not make any difference on the displayed size whatsoever. However, I'm not running XP, I use 2k, and you may be making use of XP only functionality.

The itempage is a ListView viewmode Tile. Size is set through .tilesize
From msdn:

Code: Select all

ListView.TileSize Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.
So this should be platform independent only .net specific. Are you sure you have .net 2.0 installed? :)

Would it not fail to run if it weren't? I'll go through Windows tonight and make sure I have 2.0.

*edit*

I do, in fact, have .Net 2.0 currently installed.

Turley,

I am running Windows Vista all patches, including '(dot)NET' framework 3.5 installed and everything looks really great.

Thanks for a wonderful alternative to Inside UO.

A couple of things I noticed. Nothing terrible, just small things.

1. On the mobile graphics tab after selecting 'Animate' from the 'Settings' drop down, the animation does not start until I move the "direction" slider. Once I move that the animations start and work fine.

2. Is there any way you can provide a 'zoom' setting for the map view. Even a few pre-set zoom levels would be nice.

Anyway, thanks again.

@ Luth really fascinating I'm no c# expert so i have no idea why the heck this doesnt works. I updated the sourcecode, so maybe someone else could look at it. tilesize is set in controls/itemshow.cs ~line 92

@Yukiko next fascinating problem :) But i think i can fix this.

Yeah, its a shame its not working out for me. Seemed like a very nice InsideUO alternative. I don't know C# or the .Net framework much at all, so there's not likely much I can do to fix it either.

I'll check back from week to week and hopefully it'll magically start working. ;)

Turley,

Is this written using the free VS 2008 from Microsoft or do we need to sell our first-born (assuming we have one that is) to buy VS Pro?

Not that I could do much with it at first but it's good to know whether I should even think about playing around with it.

I know there are a lot of editors out there but it would be very nice if this could be expanded to allow editing of the art/gump etc. files and maybe even an editor for existing map files for adding/removing statics at least. I have used Mulbuilder or whatever it's called but it's buggy and crashes if the input on some edit boxes is not exactly what it expects. The sweet thing with your project is the fact you've been generous enough to release the source and it's in C#.

Anyway, keep up the good work. We need more things like this available.

Now if someone would only write a client that works exactly like the one from EA/OSI but with scriptable extendability...
: )
