-=Connection Problems=-

Post by Damien »

Greetings folks.

I have a really strange connection problem with POL.
This is acctually a problem I had before but somehow I couldn't
be able to fix it. The reason why I dig up this problem right now
is because i've always played with the Local IP (Which works fine)
but now I want people to be able to connect to my shard.
Also a friend of mine got the same problem and noone has a clue why
the problem appear, so here we go:

So what I do is to insert my Internet-adress, which is 81.233.115.16 in the Servers.cfg and in my login.cfg file in the UO folder and startup POL.exe
I type my Username and Password and click Enter, and i get the gump appearing which says:
Connecting..(for a few seconds, and then turns to:)
Couldn't connect to Ultima Online. Please try again in a few moments.

However this never happens if i use my local ip adresses which are:
Ethernet card LOCAL NETWORK (ip-adress): 192.168.0.161
Ethernet card wireless NETWORK (ip-adress): 192.168.0.139

Things to know is that I got a router, but i opened a port for the ip-adress:
Private IP: 192.168.0.139
Port: 5003

Please help me get my problem straight :)
I also tried to shutdown my firewall, but it makes no different.
This is how my Servers.cfg and Login.cfg look like:

Servers.cfg
GameServer
{
Name Project Puer
IP 81.233.115.16
Port 5003
}
GameServer
{
Name POL-ip
IP poldev
Port 7003
}

Login.cfg
LoginServer=81.233.115.16,5003

One more thing! I use POL 096.7

Code: Select all

Thanks for all replies!

Hiya Damien.

This sounds like a router problem.

When you try to connect do you see connecting bla bla in your pol console?
If not, you didnt configure your router properly.

Please let me know your findings, so we can try find the next step to the solution.

Greets,

Batty

Pol console shows nothing when i try to connect.
This is how port configuration looks like:

Enable/Disable - Enable
Name: Pol
Private IP: 192.168.0.139
Protocol Type: Both (TCP and UDP)
Private Port: 5003
Public Port: 5003
Schedule: Always

Code: Select all

Thanks!

Could you try map it to your other network interface? (192.168.0.161)
