How do I up grade to 098 from 097?

You have to download pol98. Compile it with your scripts, in the compilelog you will see what to do for the upgrade.

or take a look at core_changes.txt and change your scripts according to what changed in the core.

I admit I haven't looked at corechanges for POL Core 0.98. Are there many changes that would affect script compiling from 0.97 to 0.98? I didn't get any errors when I upgraded as I far as I can remember.

The removal of a few constants and also FindBoatBySerial() but other than that, nothing major for me either.

Yeah, now that you mention it I did have a conflict with a function call or constant. I can't remember which it was now.
