Music management

Post by xeon »

Hi, I couldn't find in Fiddler a section to hear and manage the client's music files. Is not implemented?

Hi Xeon, which version are you using? It seems I can manage sounds from UOFiddler. However you can use MULPatcher that allows you to hear sounds too :)

Xeon, if you are referring to the music, not the sounds, no That is not implemented.

That is a good idea for a new feature.

Thanks Xeno, but I was referring to music files, not sound files!

Yes Yukiko, I would say if it's really missing, it's a good idea for a feature :P

If I remember correctly the music are real files in a client subfolder. So you don't need tools like fiddler to modify them.

I'm trying to understand too
From UOGuide http://www.uoguide.com/Music it seems so.

I'll play with it ( :D ) a little. I see also a nice PlayMusic() in uo.em

Iirc those music file names are somehow hardcoded in the client so adding new are not possible without replacing

But havent looked into that for years so can be wrong :D But there was some reason I used sounds.mul to add new music

Actually, unless they have changed it, the file names are in a configuration file in the /music folder in the client folder.
