Question on migration to the ML for KR/SA or HS

Hi Guys,

I would ask if someone has an experience to share on trying the migration to these newer versions, I will explain the current scenario, and scenario I want arrive...

Today, the shard has the following characteristics:
- Version Mondain's Legacy
- POL-Core 099beta-2010-01-02
- Some parts of the modified map (Britain, with the inclusion of a cave, dungeon noob)
- Some own dungeons to be accessed through the command .dungeon
- Some scripts own server

The desire would be to migrate to a newer version with better grip without stress.

The first attempts, the following problems occurred:
- Problems with the pol database shard when to startup
- Compatibility issue with the scripts custom
- Lost custom maps/dungeon
- Someone has managed to turn the ML maps for KR/SA or HS? There is some effort to trying this?

The map problem will be solved with just copying over your old ML map0.mul and so on

If you want the SA and HSA changes use Fiddler map and static copy to copy over your custom the new map....

Tomi,

There's one little problem. All of our maps are customized.
So, if we copy over the old ml files, somethings will be lost.

There isn't a way to convert those maps?

Queston 1: Classic or Enchanced client ?

If Classic, take your custom map. Look at the new SA map with Fiddler and copy from it the new stuff over to your custom map what you want ( that's what Fiddlers mapcopy is for )

pol.cfg -> max_tile_id 0x7FFF if you are using SA ( Classic clients between 7.0.0.0 and 7.0.8.2 ) And then remember 0x8000 -> 0x9FFFF ( change multis itemdescs and boats.cfg ) are reserved for multis so put all your custom in the range 0xA000 -> 0xEFFF

UoExpansion in accounts from ML to SA
UOFeatureEnable can stay as it is now in servspecopt.cfg

custom packethooks ( all packets that modify somehow races or genders should be checked to allow gargoyles )

and ofcourse the most important thing. Rerun Uoconvert to make new tiles.cfg ( max graphic changed from 0x3FFF to 0x7FFF ) and so on
