Re: Problem with myserver
The first thing I would do is run starthere.bat (or starthere.sh if you are running Linux) again and regenerate the tiles.cfg. If that does not work, look at the tiles.cfg and be certain that the file contains valid data. The contents of the file should be human readable and should not contain any s...

A new, and Core build, is available for 2020-01-21
Among other things this build fixes the slow NPC load times. You can find it on the Forum Downloads page. From core-changes.txt: -- POL100 -- 01-20-2020 Kevin: Fixed: Huge Performance loss in Lower/Upper String functions. 01-18-2020 DevGIB: Changed: Return type of XMLFile method .appendxmlnode() now...

Re: We have a new repository on polserver GitHub
I just completed moving the Yahoo! Script Forum scripts and Yukiko's Shard Collection from the legacy_scripts repo to the new related_resources repo. I may be doing a bit of organizing for those scripts. So be aware the folder structure might change in the near future. Note that legacy Cores and leg...

We have a new forum.

We have a new repository on polserver GitHub
This repository was created because Carl Hamilton of the Darkshard website has kindly released all of his maps, dungeon sections and custom GUIs (gumps) to the POL Community to share with the entire UO development community. He used to create maps and sell the MULs and UOPs for around $15 US for eac...

A new, and important build, is available for 2020-01-04
Among the things fixed or changed in this build are, a memory leak having to do with old style unicode arrays, a potential null pointer dereference issue, and AddAmount function now returns an itemref. Please note that the AddItem() change could break some scripts if the script checks for an integer...

A new Core is available built on 2019-12-30.
There is a new build of the Core available for download. Turley has made some fixes to the custom housing build system. Kevin has added definitions for two "new" packets, 0xFA and 0xFB. This will prevent the console reporting these packets as unknown packets. I believe eventually the UO St...

Actually, unless they have changed it, the file names are in a configuration file in the /music folder in the client folder.

Re: A new look for the createnpc command
Yep. It is in the Distro. The issue is more in assigning an image to a group of NPCs rather than pulling up an image of a particular NPC. I suppose a generic image for a group could work but in certain cases it might not give enough information to show every NPC template that the group contains. I d...

POL Core Nightly Builds
Thanks to Turley's hard work on the POL Core automated bakery we now have fresh hot builds of the Core baked every night! Now you do not need to wait for me to drive to the bakery and fire up the oven when there is some new ingredient added to the recipe. You can get to the nightlies either from the...

Re: A new look for the createnpc command
Yeah. The options are virtually limitless. I think, at least for now, I am going to go with a brief list of the types of NPCs rather than the cryptic taxonomic classification. This is a GM command after all. The taxonomy was created for the Animal Lore skill.

The Ubuntu build should be the current version of the Core now. Apparently something went wrong with Boberski's build system. It is fixed now.

I can confirm the issue. I even tried enclosing the -1 in parenthesis and still received the error.

A new look for the createnpc command
I have been working on improving the createnpc command. I also wanted to add a taxonomical designation to each type of NPC; e.g. Dragons would be classified as draco , Cows, Bulls, Goats, and Sheep as bovidae . Some of the taxonomical names are derived from "standard" classifications of an...

Boberski has an automated build system for Linux. I I build the Windows version. Perhaps his system is not working properly.

From my post above:
app.php/page/downloads
If you click on the link that follows, or the "Downloads" link at the top of the forums, you will see the link to the Linux (Ubuntu) there,I believe the Ubuntu link still works on the Downloads page.
