I think 9th Edition has no entries, as dkpat stated here:

It's kind of the new EA way, don't put it inside the registry

Re: read_light_level
I also don't know packet to read the clients light level. But even if such a packet would exist, you can't prevent Razor from setting the "always light", because it is done on your players computer. I think Razor simply blocks packet 0x4e and 0x4f and sends upon start "light on" ...
Re: UO_Rice
So might be better to force pierce to give you the newer source at gun point If that force thing would work, Pol would already have a binary Reader/Writer option :D Just kidding ;) I finally found my UO Rice I had previously.. and it was nice enough (for some bizarre reason) to stay open for me so ...
Re: UO_Rice
I always wondered what this client 6.0.1.10 is or was. I never had such a client version after patching. So i couldn't test it. You could try another version, i suggest 6.0.1.1. If you search for it you'll find it e.g. here: http://mirror.sphere.torfo.org/clients/ If you have the possibility to plac...

Re: Help me how to spawn the POL098core world
I never run the Distro097 SVN scripts, but if i take a look at the scripts you should use the spawnSystem (pkg/systems/spawnSystem). It contains a command called .spawner which allows you to define regions and their spawns. Maybe not all NPCs are defined in that Distro. You'll find the NPCs already ...
Re: UO_Rice
@Tomi: My intention to look into that was, that there is no need for the devs to waste time on building a core with encryption support :D You also need to add the damn keys whenever a new client was released ;) Nevertheless i send MuadDib what i think he was looking for. The source code will be rele...
Re: UO_Rice
I think it now works at least until 6.0.12.4 Test done with (latest Windows Core POL098beta-2009-01-13) and clients: 6.0.6.2 6.0.7.0 6.0.8.0 6.0.9.2 and the latest 6.0.12.3 and .4 (seems to be snow clients ;) ) If not post it here :D Edit: - Added UO_Rice extended Version 4.0a (2D/UOKR) - both versi...

Re: Support for clients with OSI-encryption
UO_Rice is practically dead ( WORKED FINE UNTIL 6.0.x.x ) but there have been no updates since.... cant remember anymore. Yes, Lord Binary left the UO scene. His last update works until client version 6.0.6.1. But he released the source code. I'll upload his last update including the source to the ...

Re: Mcliloc - 0xd6 packet
Client response with 0xD6 (there can be more then one serial up to ~16) Is this also the reason for the unexpected 0xd6 messages that spam my pol.log since over 1-2 years? I was always wondering why the client sends those serials :D Client#147: Unexpected message type d6, 11 bytes (IP:xx.xx.xx.xx, ...

Re: Console says: Cannot ready *.ecl file
For such a case i can recommend the following tool which does a good job helping me converting 95 to 96: http://www.harddisksearch.com/ You simple need to define searching .cfg files inside the pol directory for e.g. the term mainHit and the tool lists all files that contain it ;) You can open each ...

Re: [fixed] clientversion 6.x.x.x and mapdif and staticdif files
But anyway the server should stop to send the 0xBF subpacket 0x18 when having UseDif 0 option in UOConvert Perhaps i didn't understand the problem, but i looked in some of my old UOLog Files and in my case (3 custom maps all converted with UseDif 0) i get the following packet which i think simply t...

12-20 Turley: Added: support of new seed packet (>=6.0.5.0) Note: right now no new packet is implementend (some packetsizes have changed) I just tried to hook some of these packets (e.g. 0x8 Drop Item). If i set the size to 14 bytes only older clients will work, if i set it to 15 bytes the newer cl...

Re: POL 098 Win32, Linux and FreeBSD second beta
Thx to all the devs for the new core and their changes/fixes :D Some work to do for me over the weekend now ;) Tell me what you think. I hated the 32x32 restriction for all the years. It costs me a lot of work to calculate so that nearby dungeons, islands ... don't overlap. And it's not possible in ...

Re: Question about character.clientinfo member
That's why I really need to know when the client actually send this packet, That's what i tried to explain above ;) I try it another way. My client has sent the 0xd9 packet yesterday. The value for LastHarvestTime is in my case 1231759589 which was set directly after sending the packet. If i divide...

Re: Question about character.clientinfo member
I did some research cause i am interested in this one, too. 6.0.4.0 does send the 0xd9 packet. Like the the other clients before, it doesn't send this packet all the time. It seems you can't force this one from the server side. But you can force it on your own computer by editing the registry: HKEY_...

Re: UOLog Packet Logger (01-27-2007)
To answer the old question: Yes the source code is avaiable. http://reverse.torfo.org/files/UOLog_1.2.zip After playing a little bit with the <RegBuf> and <RegLen> value i get the following SpyUO values for the client.cfg to work at least for me. (6.0.1.1 i searched myself and 6.0.4.0 is a little di...

Re: Problem with new graphics
Let me guess: That happens on LBR npc's like e.g. fireant worker, meer mage ... I think that was cause EA used different anim slots on these or didn't draw all the anims like before. You can solve that by equipping those "blinking" npcs with a weapon, e.g. Weapon 0xee21 { Name fireantworke...
