Re: tiles.cfg, bar parts and drop on

I am told this is due to the tiledata.mul setting for bar parts. in the tiledata.mul file their surface flag is not set.

Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

In the POL root directory, there should be a starthere.bat for Windows users and a starthere.sh for Linux users, and a subdirectory named "batchfiles" that will help with some of the setup. The subdirectory is needed for the main starthere file. If you do not have those two items, you can ...

Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

Ok. It appears resolution is the problem. The strange thing is I added scroll bars to allow for 720p resolution. The scroll bars work on a 720p display from what I have heard but with your notebook, and my remote session, the scroll bars do not work correctly. I need to look at display scaling optio...

Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

I have a similar issue when I use remote desktop to access the POL server machine in my house. I think my issue is the native video resolution on the server machine. Your issue might be related to your video resolution. What is the resolution of your monitor? The Configurator should be compatible wi...

Please read before posting any files here.

The intention for this forum is for scripters to submit packages or scripts that do not require modifications to be compatible with the Distro. Packages, whenever possible, should be drop-in and go, or "plug and play" if you prefer. Should a package require a special include file, then pla...

Re: The Official POL Distro Test Server.

The test server is running a special build of the POL Core. This build is a rewrite of the way POL handles movement internally. We need testers to log-in and do movement-related things. So log-in to the server. Auto account creation is enabled. We need testers. I am placing some vendors in or outsid...

Re: Starting gold is bugged.

Yes, the max stack is 60K but I was hoping to give enough starting gold that testers could buy a multi house and a boat. I will set it to 60K I guess. Maybe the boffins can add functionality to create multiple stacks if StartingGold is > 60,000.

Starting gold is bugged.

I wanted to give testers on the test server a large sum of gold. So I changed the StartingGold setting in servspecopt.cfg to 100000. When I created a character to test whether that amount would be created, a stack of 34,464 gold coins was created on the character. Obviously far less than 100,000 gol...

Free Shard Developers, what motivates you to develop and operate a shard?

This is for any shard developer no matter what emulator you use. I assume because it is posted on the POL forums, if I get any response, it will be mostly POL shard developers but the question is open to RunUO, ServUO, Sphere, or any emulator. From the list below, in order of importance please list ...

At one time, when I was posting releases of the Core on the forums, I tried using Vagrant to setup a Linux VM so I could post Linux releases too. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful. Maybe your update to Vagrant's configuration fixed whatever problems I was encountering back then. Thanks for all the ...

The new housing systems are now in the Distro (Modern Distro.

First, let me say to those of you who might be using the Distro on a live shard, I am sorry. I said I would give you warning before I pushed the housing system change to the Distro repo. I simply forgot. Second, I have created documentation for the new static housing system so that staff can set up ...

Housing system update is coming.

The deeds package did not work with both systems before. Now it does. As far as I know from a survey ...

Re: Region functions

Except for missing the PC and NPC flags you could use ListObjectsInBoxOfClass( POL_Class, x1,y1,z1, x2,y2,z2, realm := _DEFAULT_REALM ) to find characters in a region. With a little extra programming you can filter out PCs from NPCs and vice-versa.

Re: Mouseover items UI

I am not a big fan of the amount of detail displayed by the megacliloc package. It can be modified to reduce a lot of the detail but I am, once again, with you on this aspect as well. I started playing on a role play shard and a lot of that detail shouldn't be known to a character, at least, until c...
