Re: Spam of ENTEREDAREA

Thanks mate for reply - I thought I was the only one with that problem. TBH, I was looking for some neater solution or at least some point what is wrong, scripts or pol. You can just block every enetered area from all npcs, except players and tamed ones, but still would be nice to know whats the pro...

Are you using any known AI system?
Custom AI, originated from distro 94.
If you say no one had such problem with pol 99 yet, I will investigate my scripts deeper.

Spam of ENTEREDAREA

Hi everyone, I have a problem with spaming of ENTEREDAREA event. After analyzing I came up with this: Npc1 standing in areaX Npc2 created in areaX using CreateNPC with real x,y,z,realm specified. Npc1 whenever he moves, he gets ENTEREDAREA event from Npc2. Imagine: Npc1 wanders Npc1 gets enteredarea...

Re: Compiling POL...

Turley, is there any instruction how to compile pol ? Its obvious, you need special environment for it, and since you dont publish any builds anymore, you need to compile it yourself.
How can I do it without spending 2 days searching web for solutions?
Thanks in adv.

Re: Compiling POL...

Peeps, seriously, from where did you get md5_ctx struct ? I cant find any special entry about such implementation of md5 algorithm. Ive found only something in gnulib. What do you need to have on gentoo for example to get this working? On other way, if you have to manually download some md5 implemen...

Re: Compiling POL...

Hi again, You have to add to clib/MD5.h # include <stdint.h> typedef uint32_t md5_uint32; struct md5_ctx { md5_uint32 A; md5_uint32 B; md5_uint32 C; md5_uint32 D; md5_uint32 total[2]; md5_uint32 buflen; char buffer[128] __attribute__ ((__aligned__ (__alignof__ (md5_uint32)))); }; extern void __md5_i...

Re: Compiling POL...

Unfortunatelly its not that simple to just remove all compile warnings. There are bigger problems than warnings, like removal of PTHREAD_THREAD_MAX constant or some change in md5 lib, where struct md5_ctx vanished. Unfortunatelly you cant compile it under new gcc and libs. Anyways, thanks for answer...

Compiling POL...

Hi there, I want to ask you about POL compilation process. Ive done checkout from pol repository (https://polserver.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/polserver/trunk) Im trying to compile it under gentoo with gcc 4.4.4, up to date glibc and everything else. Why do I get such common errors like deprecated_...

New, enchanced 2D clients (about network protocol changes)

Ive began to investigate newer clients network changes, and it seems Ive got them all, just wanna to share, maybe someone will use it, or devs will have lil work with this info. I had to change 6 packets to make it work. 0x3C - ContainerContent - add new grid location byte before parent serial. 0x25...

Hi everyone. Today Ive updated my POL to 07-25 and noticed the same lil buggy. As far as I noticed, POL simply doesnt send worn update for player and players around him, when item is equipped from different realm. Bigger problem causes mounting (if your script is equiping it from brit), because play...

item decay timer problem

There is a little problem with item decay time. Item decayat do not reset when item is set to movable. (Fortunatelly, I can do it myself, because I can change .decayat member... but it would be probably better if core do that) Problem occurs when for example: Item objtype has DecayOnMultis 1 in item...

IMHO, this can be the same error which I encountered lately.
Check your hardware, especially RAM. Are all slots the same mark?

Calls to core functions seems to crash your pol, my problem was the same.

Configuration was changed from king king other other to king other king other, and then crashes starte...

Did you upgrade your core lately? Did you make sure you replace your .em files with the new ones from the core? Did you recompile your scripts after applying the new .em files? I've experienced a series of strange crashes lately. Sigsegv printed some random scripts and PCs every time, and I cant make a sense of it. Lets see: Build: POL097-2006-10-29 RC Coregina (gentoo) Last Script: pkg/spawnnet/spawnnet.ecl PC: 395 Stack Backtrace: [0x8220dce] [0x243420] [0x8119fbb] [0x81...

MoveObjectToLocation realm-to-realm problem
