Re: Staff Assistant reborn

Having to add the registry keys is a issue with the ultima.dll included with the program- which I did not write. If the source code for that could be found, updated and recompiled that would fix that issue. Some of the missing commands I have previously released here. Mass Move: http://forums.polser...

Pol Watcher (Source Code)

I have not been involved with POL development for some time, but while going through an old backup I located some of the tools I wrote for building and administrating a server. This is a simple program that periodically checks to make sure pol.exe is running. If it isn't it will try to restart it an...

Patch Client (Source Code)

I have not been involved with POL development for some time, but while going through an old backup I located some of the tools I wrote for building and administrating a server. This was made for patching the client of the users and the staff. If I remember correctly, patches were built by rarring to...

Staff Assistant (Source Code)

Re: POL Module Updater

Good news. Checked some old backups and I was able to find the source files. It is a VB.NET app originally written in Visual Studio 2005, so it'll need updating.

Hope someone is able to update it and continue development.

Re: POL Module Updater

Sadly I don't even have the source code for this anymore, though if I do find it i'll post it here so someone else could update it if they want.

I haven't been involved with POL development for quite a few years now.

Wouldn't having all image files the same size be the way to go? That way the bot wouldn't know which one was which image. No. The bot could then generate hash values for the images, compare them to a known database and then identify the image with probably a good bit of accuracy. Randomizing the si...

Both methods work, but using braces is the preferred method and parenthesis are only there for backwards compatibility. It was changed with POL95. From core-changes.txt: 06-12 Syzygy escript changes: Added (yet another) syntax for declaring initialized arrays: var x := array { 4, 3, 2 }; this is mor...

The current trend is to use pictures and have the users identify the object in the picture. This is exceedingly difficult for a "bot" to accomplish but a simple task for a human being. It's also not widely used yet, so even if a bot could be created to break it, it wouldn't happen in the n...

I believe Bracco is correct. Calling "exit" will terminate the current script immediately. And calling "return" will end the current function/program. Return can, as mentioned, be called with or without a variable. When called without a variable, "return", it is the sam...

I honestly like Vista. I've been using it since Beta 2, and I've never had any major problems. I still have RC2 running on a spare box and as soon as I get around to buying an upgrade I'm going to put it on my main box. I'm curious though, any thing particular you don't like about it? Have you used ...

The way I always tried to do it was include the information for the latest version, but simply make note on how that info changed from previous versions or that the particular feature was available only in the newest version (96 or 97 for example).

My only advice then would be to examine the ones that are working, and those that are not. See if you can find whats different.

I'm sure you thought of that though. :?

Hmm, not sure what else could be causing your issues. In my experience, when I took over my shard from the previous developer, he had accidently put them above the 50,999 range.. and when I fixed them I just decided to start from scratch making the verdata.mul, rather than try to reassign and move t...

That function was removed with POL 97. It is up to you to remove obsolete and depreciated functions. POL Module Updater will not take care of that for you.

It will also run fine on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (x86).

So, if it runs on XP x64 and 2003 x86 - I would guess it's a safe bet it'll run on the x64 version of 2003 Server.

Correct, gumps for wearable start at 50,000 and 60,000 -the latter being the start for female clothing. For example the gump for male chainmalle shirt is (I'm making this number up -not the real number) 50,154... so the female version is 60,154. Anything with an ID between 50,000 and 51,999 will be ...

I'm guessing when you added the new clothing you gave the new gumps an ID greater than 52000/62000. This is a weakness in the UO client. OSI never bothered to fully code support for animations with gumps exceeding 52000/62000. You have to add the gumps below that ID number for them to show up while ...
