For the Etheria scripts, yes. Hmm I'll ask omega to maybe upload the map generator source code too there... but it will be hard for anyone fixing the bugs there without having a deep understanding of what rules must be applied to maps to look proper. If you're interested feel free to contact me ...

Ever since a played "Little Computer People" I keep asking myself this question. I'm not really sure yet. That's also the reason why I changed from a player to an admin. I didn't want to keep klling them, not positively knowing if they live or are ...

please allow me but one naive question:
Asuming there was a person, with the required time, skill and qualifikation.... what motivation should they have to work for you, as opposed to simply founding their own shard, allowing them to implementing their own ideas as they please?

Make a bulk compiler or even better here you go

Compile-all.bat

@echo off
D:\POL\scripts\ecompile.exe -C impyecompile.cfg
PAUSE

Compiler Config

impyecompile.cfg

ModuleDirectory D:\pol\scripts
IncludeDirectory D:\pol\scripts

ecompile.exe (which is part of the pol core files you d/l, located in the /scripts folder) is the program that lets you compile your files from src's to ecl's.

you may ignore the warning... but I think the DBGHELP.DLL is available for d/l somewhere on this page. used to be at least.

ecompile.exe ...

search for "tdv-mulpatcher" - that tool is fairly self explaining.

If you can't find it, feel free to contact me on icq (51747447) if you happen to see me on (which sadly is a bit rare), then I can get you temporary access so you can d/l it from my homepage.

I think you have your assumption backwards, there...

For raw speed in reading unchanging data, config files are by far the best. That's why all the stuff is in config files to begin with. If data files were faster, the definitions of items and NPCs would be in datafiles, instead.

DataFiles, on ...

Quite a bizarre idea, but:
Try to put a pkg.cfg into each batch directory with the contents of "enabled 0" and then ecompile with the -A option. Since this only compiles sources in main and enabled packages....

sadly can't... the "base" folders are automatically/dynamically created by our cvs ...

I've made a map, new dungeons etc... POL made new staidx0.pol & statics0.pol... i've made two magical npc's, and with .attack command i've try to provoke them to fight (wityh spells) on one of dungeons. And what? They haven't casted spells ! On normal, map land, it works great. But on static ...

efficiency & performance: cfgfile vs. datafile

Question:
if one has to regulary access a certain item-specific information of (mostly) unchanging extended properties, would it be more efficient (CPU-wise) to store this data straight in the itemdesc, rereading them as properties from the cfg-file on each ocation, or would it be better, to store ...

is it possible....? ecompile question

Hi folks,
say, is it possible to tell ecompile to ignore all files in certain named folders?

e.g. I want to exclude all "base" subfolders. Ecompile should compile all files in /pkg with the exception of e.g. "/pkg/base" and "/pkg/xxx/base", .... etc.

is that possible?
If yes, that would help me a ...
