Re: The downloadable POL Docs.

For the Official release POL 099 on this page you will find the online documentation and there is a link at the top of that page to download the docs. For the Beta release POL 100 on this page you will find the online documentation and the link at the top of the page to download the docs for the bet...

Re: Announcing the POL version of SciTE!

Yes, the conversion of decimal to hexadecimal and vice-versa is great. I also like the call tips. As we haven't had that before I suspect I will find it as or more useful than the converter. One of the things that prevents POL SciTE from working more like a "proper" IDE is eScript's loose typing of ...

Re: Announcing the POL version of SciTE!

I have updated the PDF to include a note that the screen shots for adding custom call tips were made with line wrap on, Options --> Wrap. Each call tip must be on one line including the additional help text. There is also an addition setting that you can add for autocomplete. Just search the documen...

Re: Announcing the POL version of SciTE!

@Boberski, I did not do the work on POL SciTE!
ThisIsMe did ALL the work.
Now if you are talking about the exquisite design work put into the PDF document then I accept the praise :P
but POL SciTE is all a result of ThisIsMe digging into SciTE's documentation.

Announcing the POL version of SciTE!

There has been, for ages, a need for a decent IDE for eScript. There are a few programmes that provide a decent editing environment. Some even allow code highlighting. Almost since I started programming eScript I have been using SciTE. It wasn't bad as editors go but it lacked a few of the features ...

For some reason the docs did not get updated. I suspect some cron job has to run to update them.

A new Core build is up 2018-09-07

A new build is up! This adds some consistency to FindObjtypeInContainer(), flags for recursion of subcontainers. Also, updates to Racalac's eScript guide documenting the logical operators AND , OR , and XOR . Thanks go out to Dev for the FindObjtypeInContainer and for adding the additional documenta...

Re: Hi me need help select host web sity.

We do not normally give advice for web hosts. There are a lot of them listed on Google. I recommend finding one that has what you want and you can afford but that is obvious advice.

Re: The Ghost of Ikrontik Past

Yeah time seems to pass faster as we get older. I should know :)

Anyway, it's good to see POL veterans returning to the fold. I wish more would come back, MuadDib, Shinigami, others I cannot remember, but especially the Father of POL, Syzygy.

User Defined Methods for POL Classes.

ThiIsMe and I were discussing the usefulness of being able to define new methods for POL Classes. These could be defined in a POLMethods.cfg file which would be read on start-up and assigned as additional methods for the assigned POL classes. The file might be formatted like this: Class SpellBook { ...

Re: First attempt at a POL shard.

The Configurator will make compiling the whole shard easier as well as building the facets (in POL scripts they are called realms).

Re: First attempt at a POL shard.

I also I recommend downloading the POL Configurator to make configuring POL easier. That link is to the installer. It does not make any Windows registry entries. Basically it just installs the Configurator to the directory of you choose. I have received a couple of reports that some third party anti...

Re: what do I get?

To answer your first question, you can design your own map using tools available elsewhere. If you are looking for a good source of maps and design tools I would recommend you check out Darkshard . Carl has a large collection of custom designed maps, tools, and custom graphics that he makes availabl...

Re: ModernDistro change

Hmm... furniture dye tubs should have worked with the :miscellaneous: pkg name preceding the furnituretub/use but I made your change to that anyway. It's probably better for portability anyway should someone want to move the items and use scripts to a different pkg. I forgot the leading ':' on the r...

Re: Hail and well met!

Thank you for looking at POL as a choice for an emulator. POL was, in my never so humble opinion, the premier UO emulator for a long time. It fell behind as RunUO took on steam but in recent months we have been striving to bring it current with at least Age of Shadows or whatever the expansion was b...

Re: ModernDistro change

Thank you. I will make the changes in the repo. There might be issues with the furniture dye tub on certain furniture items. I think it looks for a CProp on furniture that is dyeable. Hehe to be honest I cannot remember at the moment for sure how it determines what can be dyed. If you find any more ...

Re: what do I get?

In short, the answer is yes. You have a working UO shard. The maps, or facets, are the standard UO maps. The are not decorated initially. This means that the doors and signs etc are not installed. There is a command to decorate the facets (also called realms in POL parlance). The command is .decorat...

May I also add "Thank God!" We have enough trouble getting updated to previous expansions. :). I can't wait for the new AoS modifiers to be implemented so I can add their functionality to the Distro (spoken somewhat sarxasticly because of the extra work involved with the Distro). Truthfully though I...
