Re: Party System

I have been very busy with school lately, but I think I have some time now since I quit some other activities. Yeah, I see now that there are some problems and I'd like to fix them. However, it seems the package was removed from the latest distro because the core handles it now. I remember someone t...

Awesome, another open source thread. These are always a lot of fun. Here's a little secret: POL is not really that closed source. If you're a cool guy and a wizard with Visual C++ you could probably talk to Muad, Austin or Shini and help out if you wanted. The overwhelming majority of the functional...

A little feedback

I have some free time with it being nearly christmas and all so I've been doing some housekeeping around the distro, trying to finish it up! One thing I noticed is a lot of bug reports / patches, etc... and that is just great. Thanks a lot for helping. It's always appreciated and sending patches is ...

The string "coverage" is not found in any script or config file in the distro. Not sure how I got there for you.

It seems this is not a distro bug but a problem with your distro.

I also don't know what that itemdesc.cfg entry is for.

From what I remember: Muad added that support into the core and I built the hook to send the correct information but it never worked right and we got some -very- strange issues.

Hopefully Muad will post here and clear things up as my memory is cloudy!

You don't have to but it's good practice to.

If you do not unload it it should be unloaded for you when it's no longer referenced.

ELSoft wrote:In Distro 097 "pkg/items/sysbook/commands/gm/readonly.src" the cfgfile.em is not declared and the script use ReadConfigFile and GetConfigString.
Thanks for this. It has been fixed in the distro.

These options are handled totally by the core, last I checked. It would be neat if they were script-controlled, though.

Try setting them both to 0 to disable.

Where is tekproxy?

Tekproxy is busy with work. So busy it hurts him. In my free time I've taken up competitive natural selection (HL1 mod). BUT... I feel the itch to code again. In a few weeks when I am done wrapping up all this stuff at work, I intend to hop back into the distro.

This forum is for the 097 distro, so I'm assuming you have it. Spell graphics are defined in :magery:config/spells.cfg

So the answer to your question is:

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. You could probably do it but it may lag the server. You'd also have to be very careful of crashing the client. If you do packet hooks, you know what I'm talking about. If you want to just be nasty, it would be easy to write a function like CrashClient(). If you could find out a client process that i...
