Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

Ah that's why. My ecompile.cfg is named a little differently, to handle multiplatform development :) Copide and renamed it and it's all ok.

One suggestion, read also servspecopt.local.cfg , bulk of configurations according to doc should stay there

Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

By the way, I tried it, I select my POL folder and seems ok for him
But when I click "load my config" I get an "File not found - Press ok ... or ignore..." error
What files does it want?

Re: Announcing the POL Configurator!

I would suggest to put it in GitHub on the Polserver repo

Re: Securing the POL webserver

My solution was simple. Block access to the POL webserver from public, and export generated data to public website. Many reasons behind this decisions, mainly: 1) securing a webserver is hard. Apache, IIS, etc. have years and millions of dollars behind in development. Let's do webserver to webserver...

Re: Ask - Book package

Yuki rest assured that if there is a bug it's in our scripts :asd:
I'll check the Distro sysbook pkg, I'm sure that one is working.

Re: Ask - Book package

Let me narrow the request
I'm referring to the "book" items in game, editable by the player.
We've got a broken pkg script for editing the books.
I would reuse a good, nice editing gump script for these :)

Ask - Book package

Anyone has a working Book package that would not mind to share?
We're still using old and bugged Zulu version of book pkg. I would like to fix it, but the idea of fighting another time with gumps just depress me

Re: Crowd source time. I need a little bit of help regarding some UO expansion questions.

Ohoho...these questions are history-related I would say :D
Too much information about UO clients and their files is lost in history. Yukiko you're the perfect one to collect all these info and upload them somewhere :D :D

Learn what are scripts web-enabled, then you can do anything you want :)
You should find some examples in the scripts/www folder

Re: New [unofficial] POL-CORE fork - 2017

Good to know, just to say that one POL to track is enough
Given that POL is niche stuff, I would suggest you to stick with "official" POL and submit patches, or get into the core developer teams, to not disperse coding power around

Re: Outstanding 099 Core Issues?

I'm on 099 but on an (now) old version, so I cannot say. I couldn't upgrade because I immediately was stuck in a bug introduced in newer version than mine, so I had to rollback, never took the time to upgrade again.

Re: exported function and "by ref"

I used byref a couple of times to be sure to have the reference to the objects and not a copy of the object.
Wait rereading what I wrote it's almost tautology. It must be the hour. Anyway.
