Mondains legacy problem

Post by Unfaithful »

We've got a problem. Last days our shard became from AoS to ML Shard and than the problem appeared. Players noticed something like ?lag? and some problems with character movements. It never happened before and it exists in ML and only in ML. If anybody had the same problem and can solve it please give me an answer

Not enough information for me to offer any help.
Are you talking about your clients moving to ML or your server changing the servspecopt.cfg file for UOFeatureEnable or even UOExpansion in the accounts.txt file?

Patching the client into the v5 series actually reduces lag over the v4 client significantly. Our shard is heading for v5 and it offers less lag than v6 and v4.

Setting UOExpansion to ML from AOS doesn't seem to change anything bad that I can see.

I have been using UOFeatureEnable=0x20 (AOS) for a long time now. Have you changed it to 0x1a0 (ML)?

UoFeature is 0x0 i dont use it... for many reasons. Players just play on 5.0.9 and have terrible lags - before ( on AOS ) they have lags when about 10-20 mobiles appered on screen ... now its sometimes 4-5 players and they have lags this is very strange ;/ did u noticed strange animation "jumps" on v5?

okay, so it's just a client change.
No sorry, all my experiments with 5.0.9.1 show that it's less laggy than 4.0.3 or thereabouts. (Those are just the versions I have played with, no other reason)

I do have a logon.src script inspect the client version and set UOExpansion to ML / AOS / T2A as appropriate though (v5, v4, v2). That's about the only change I noticed.

Experience of others might help here. My own findings may not be universal.
