I plan on completely starting from stratch with the distro as my base and customize the hell out of it, lol. When it's finished that is.

I believe that the distro now and all the distros past were absolutely vital, invaluable tools for those new to POL, and those new to a particular version. I've used the distro as 'quick reference' to how to implement certain new core features, when I upgraded to 095, for example.

I will be starting from our own 095 base, and upgrading from there. I won't be 'rewriting' or changing things; simply adding in new features, and altering existing systems to take advantage of new features. Our system actually works pretty well, and I'm not interested in having any complications that might suggest a desire to 'wipe' the shard, or anything.

But just like with our upgrade to 095, I'm sure I will be 'using' the 096 distro just to get a peek at how the folks working on the distro have chosen to implement 096's new features. I could do it without it, I suppose, but though I don't 'use' it, per se, I am very appreciative of the distro, anyway.

All of my scripts are very heavily modified from even the older distro scripts. Like Marilla I use them to help me figure out how new features are implemented and as a guild for changes to my own scripts.

I plan on using the distro to the same extent again with the new core. I have alot of work cut out for me though since I have not done anything with the new core yet other then look at a few things here and there.

Just to clarify, for myself... which distro do you guys refer to when you mention it? The 095 and previous? The 096 one im working on is pretty much all new shizzle and isn't gonna get completed for a while (but man does it have some kick ass stuff ego++)

My scripts are based off the Sanctuary scripts (POL95 release). I have change alot in them to the point where they hardly resemble that set any more.

I learned to script using the 92 distro scripts myself and worked my way up from there to what I have now. If I had to guess my script set now is around 50% distro and 50% Sanctuary.

no - I've developted everything from scratch
I did it from scratch not because it wasn't good, but because my server has nothing to do with the osi gameplay.
I have different skills, custom races, different guilds, different AIs... all different :P
I used pol095 as a valuable source of knowledge, I learned it and then script by script I replaced it completely with my own scripts.
I'll give a look at pol096 distro (still had no time) just for curiosity and again to learnsomething from other coders, but I'm sure I won't use it, it simply cannot be what I need. At best I'll find some interesting piece of code to borrow :P

I started with 94 Distro originally but then went to World of Dreams for a while. Now I am running a converted POL 95 but my mouth is watering after seeing the 96 Distro that is in development. So to answer Shini's question, I use 95 Distro. I guess that is the "current" fully developed Distro.

I really don't now what we were started from. Some parts were from the year 2000, i think Zulu. A lot we done ourself. And meanwhile you could not see any Zulu or else parts cause everthink is rewritten or debugged.
Nevertheless i voted for:
"yes and no - my Scripts are based on an older Distro"
even if its a mixture with:
"no - I've developted everything from scratch"

As I upgrade to 096, I will -definitely- be digging in deep into all the work you all have done on the 096 distro, since my main use for the distro is to see how the 'experts' have implemented the new core features into script. This matches the process I used when moving from 092 to 095 - I used the 095 Distro to find quick samples, include functions and such to implement the new features.
