Distro Crafting and Skills Update

Post by MuadDib »

Just an update, Distro Crafting has been reactivated, and once again seeing progress. Skills in general are actually. I would like to ask anyone who actively watches or uses the 097 Distro, to please look into the recent and upcoming work. Please check it over, try it out, use and abuse it. While we do test what we work on, it's hard for us to do the extensive testing groups of people can do through using it. So please help ensure our work, well, works! :D

Honestly, can't remember how often it updates, lol. But next update, yes, it will all be in place. I am going through the skills in Alphabetical order right now, updating and installing them. Cartography will be my next update. I got it 100% completed, and then realized that Austin had made a new map package, so I need to update it to take advantage of that instead, then I'll commit the new Carto to the SVN.

Next of course, will be cooking, and so forth. Lumberjacking has already been updated by me recently actually also. I upgraded it to handle using axes on Furniture (created in Carpentry) to smash them. If the item was a "deed" when crafted (like beds, pentagrams, etc), then it will actually re-create the deed instead of just destroying it.

Alchemy and Animal Lore have been added, Arms Lore, Eval, Anat, Bowcraft all updated and installed. Austin wants stuff to use pimply configs, ewww (at least for the Lore packages I think ewww, hehe). Crafting package is getting updates as needed, when I run into things for it. It's now more config driven than any I myself have seen out there. May end up making a doc on it, who knows. It's relatively simple though imo. But then, I am the one who made it, so yeah, it is going to be that way for me.

Austin says it's all done automatically. Recompiled nightly, and every week data files are reset.

Looking good, Muad!

Hmm, I haven't received an e-mail with the svn updates for a while now.
Guess I shouldn't be waiting for the e-mail. I'd just assumed it was working so I never checked for new files.

Kudos to Maud!!!

Guess that dime I gave went a long way.

*grins*

But seriously, thanks to Maud and Austin and was it Tekproxy... Sorry I can't remember or don't know all those working on Distro 0.97... for doing the Distro. It has been long needed.

As a side note I kind of like cfg files for gumps and menus as long as they are documented so's we can use the gump cfgs to add/create gumps and so's we can add things to the crafting menus.

Yeah. SVN update mailing list seems to not like my updates.... lol.

Anyway, updated maps pkg and added cartography now. Also activated cartography button on skills menu.

A trouble ticket needs to be submitted to SourceForge saying the mail lists are not sending anything. After like 3 days they will all send.. in a flood.

Ive been busy at work (new temp. job) and school (boo, no girls in the classes I took)
