As some people are aware, Vend0r is now on our Core Development team. What they don't know is, it's time to kickstart POL once again.

We are currently looking for Active community members who would like to join the POL Distribution Script team! These individuals would be willing to work on the community project for our default scriptbase, and always keep an open mind about the base. Distro is meant to be a generic base people can build from. While still being a complete base that a server can run from, as bug free as possible (We are all human after all!).

If you would like to apply for this team, please contact Myself or Adam here on the forums and we will set up getting with you to discuss this possibility.

Wow... one reply so far, and from someone who hasn't even had time to learn Escript well yet, but still offered to help!

Come on guys, I know some of you who are experienced have time to give back, let's step forward and show ppl the type of community we got here (or use to anyway :P )

I am glad to see that you are here again.
Hope your back is better.

I will continue to do what I always do. I will try to assist members with their scripting problems although as you know Maud, I sometimes post in "blonde mode". When I can I will donate in more substantial ways to the POL community.

My two biggest problems with working on Distro development are that I am working over 60 hours a week and I my shard isn't based on the current (0.97) Distro. I am slowly incorporating things into it from the current system but that is going slowly.

To be honest it seems that most of the developers have been absent or atleast silent for quite a while and POL has lost steam. Now we have a new fire under the kettle but it takes a while to bring the soup to a boil if it's cold. I think it's going to take some time to get people excited again.

I am not blaming or accusing here. We all get busy or we lose interest in a thing we have been working on for years, especially if we aren't getting any real benefit from it. You know from my comments on ICQ that I have felt burned out for a while and I know some people had dabbled in other game servers just for a change of scenery. I might have too except that I am an old dog and I don't want to learn new tricks. Nor am I smart enough to learn most new ones.

So give it a few days or maybe even a month to take hold.

I will help when I can with Distro. I do try to fix bugs and report them when I import a Distro package and find problems in it.

Again, I am really glad you are hot to trot for POL again.
*grins*

I would really like to help, but I have two problems...
First, POL doesn't run on OpenBSD, at least not the newest version.
Second, there is no UO Client for OpenBSD.
