This is the development copy I maintained of the former POL wiki. I would work here before I would make changes to the official one. So this is the official unofficial wiki.

Well the official one has been MIA for a long time, so figured I might aswell share the link to this one. Some articles are incomplete and were never meant to be seen yet, especially the client modding section.

And this is slightly related and may help you too... these are the coding standards I always adheared too:

Handy to have laying around. Austin will be working on online documentation and so forth, but is taking a much earned break right now. I am in the middle of moving, and Shini has been equally as busy. Except at work, I won't have inet access till Monday night probably. :x

Why does life have to get in the way of fun?

That is why everyone says that life is not fair.

Noticed that editing of the wiki was broke. It has been fixed.

Not sure if anyone is even interested in editing it, but if they are it can be done now.

I am interested in editing it but i must know if it must have a distinction between 095 096 and 097 versions.
I'm going only to copy the Rracalac's guide and eventually add some more info

The way I always tried to do it was include the information for the latest version, but simply make note on how that info changed from previous versions or that the particular feature was available only in the newest version (96 or 97 for example).

Just an FYI, I was speaking with Racalac the other day, well chatting in ICQ really, and he would appreciate it if you be sure to give credit to him when using any portion of his guide.

Anyone can write something about the MUL files and their structure?
Expecially about the uoconvert tool and who does the pol handle animations, graphics, multis, etc...

I'm asking it because using uotool with "statics realm=britannia" parameters, i don't know what does it do.
To make the pol recocgnize (<- English word :?: ) the statics in the right way i must type "uoconvert map realm=britannia etc..etc.."

Better explanation:

i have my well running pol, i decide to melt some items with wordforge, ok wf generated another staidx0.mul file for my shard, well, i'm gonna update the pol infos...
c:\>uoconvert statics realm=britannia
bla bla converting, reading, writing...DONE!
I start pol, log in
no more items, good..
.staticsimport, the item are created.. good..
I destroy items and.. try to walk over the place the items were... CANNOT WALK THROUGH!!!
The only way to make pol update his info about items in static is:
"uoconvert map realm=britannia mapid=0 usedif=1 width=6144 height=4096"

So.. what does it do "uoconvert statics" ?
