well, i've been trying to host a pol server for my friends and i, but when i open it, no one can login...
this is the login file
Code:
LoginServer=fakeshrine.servequake.com,2593
this is the servers.cfg file
Code:
GameServer
{
Name POL
IP fakeshrine.servequake.com
Port 2593
}
Code:
#
# ListenPort: TCP/IP port to listen
# NOTE, if you change this, you probably need to edit config/servers.cfg
#
ListenPort=2593
#ListenPort=2693
I use a DSLink 200UE modem that is routing/bridging function
and a Ethernet Hub where other 2 pcs conect
and i use No-Ip client to update my WAN ip
i've already port-forwarded my router and opened port 2593 (i believe)
anyone has a clue why it still doesnt allow anyone to login?[/code]

Somewhere one of them is still blocking POL. Also make sure if you have a firewall its also not blocking POL.
im not very sure, but i think the dslink thing is a modem and router... =P
and well, i'm pretty sure i have no firewalls of any kind =/

Chagrin,
If you are running a router, which you are, then you have a firewall. Routers act as a firewall. You'll need to go to the configuration settings for your router and open port 2593 to the internal IP of your server.
I have used a hub with a router with no problems. For efficiency I'd make sure the server is plugged into one of the router's ports directly.
I just pinged the hostname you showed above, and I got a 'Destination host unreachable' error from a host along the way.
So either you really aren't connected to the Internet, or your Dynamic DNS isn't being updated properly. That doesn't rule out there also being a problem with port forwarding - but you should make sure that your host name is working properly first, which it appears it is not.
