I have seen data corruption like this on 095 too.
In my case it is server hardware that is unreliable or simply unable to cope with the load of running pol.
Symptoms for me are a high level of 100% pol and cpu usage.

No... pol cpu is less than 100% and files is copied and read by normal editor like ultraedit.
I think error message is not enought precise.
The problem is not the one message say.

Hve you bothered searching for the item serial, for it's Container entry? Mebe the container is gone?

Container exist.
Anymore pol.cfg contains option pol continue load also on item error.

Exist as program clear duplicate in pol datas?

this message says that the core tried to _destroy_ the container, but it wasn't empty. hmm
