Which version to use

Hi, i want to change my emu to POL, im comming from RunUO and i was wondering which core/distro should i use. If i understand correctly 95 is depricated now, 97 is under development, thus not good to use on a live shard atm and 96 is the way to go.

Also, on site i see that:

Official Core: 096.7
Official Core: 097 2008-02-26

Which is rather confusing

So if you please tell me what version should i go for.

POL 097 is pretty much final, so I suggest using it.

Right now there is a lack of good official distro. If you are ready to do some work, 097 distro is open for basically anyone to contribute. If you are not, there are probably some third party scriptsets you can use.

The "distro" is/are basicly scrips right if that is so, could you tell me or point me to location where i could read what is already done.

EDIT: Where can i find those 3rd party scipts?

Yes, distro is the thing that really affects the shard. Set of scripts that cover what happens in the world. Only some basic things are controlled by core (and they can be overrided using scripts and packethooks, if you wish to do so).

Latest packaged versions can be found at the releases section: http://releases.polserver.com/. Up-to-date version can be fetched from subversion using Austin's guide: http://forums.polserver.com/ftopic520.php.

Unofficial scripts, I'm afraid, you have to search by yourself. I'm sure something is released on the forums, so this is a good place to start.
