if i pick an item in hand, it is not saved on saveworldstate.
In fact on a server shutdown if one player hold an item in the hand, on the restart of server the item is destroyed...

Confirmed.. "gotten item" isn't saving
I think its related to changes Muad did with adding/removing items from teh world. I guess in the core, saves need to go through the online characters and either save the gotten item where it came from or in the character's pack.

Probably an issue in the re-write of gotten item to help with decay and so on? Who knows. At any rate, I'll look into throwing in a check of gotten item, and if it exists, save it in the character's backpack instead.

I could have sworn this bug has existed for a while or at least a long time ago. People used to be afraid to hold expensive things on my shard for a long time because there was something with holding an item and it disappearing like on a save/shutdown.

Interesting.

Anyway, soon as I get time i'll look into the savestate issue for gotten items. Can this bug be confirmed on 096.x also? Would be nice if someone can check while I am still at work hehe.

If you can get into contact with him and if he even remembers, the one who confirmed and announced this bug I'm pretty sure was Folko. He was deving the shard at the time...

Confirming this bug does exist on 096.3.

Picked up an item, switched over to POL, hit S s and closed after the save. Loaded back up, logged in, the item was gone.

Confirming this bug also exists on 095 so yes, this probably is the same bug that we had a few years ago.
