Does anyone know the current limitations of the Secure Trading Window?
I was testing it to see what players will notice on 096 and some of the old things are still there.
* trading between v4 and v2 client does not allow you to put anything in the response side of the gump. You can however add more items to the offer side of the gump.
Is this a limitation of a v2 to v4 trade?
I don't have 2 v4 clients that I can use to test it all works between v4 to v4 clients.

Sometime during the v4 era, they changed something clientside involving trading windows.... what it was, I myself don't know. Involved with adding items not working after initial (probably changed the packet?)

It seems to be the way they did the gump. When they added the background it seemed to screw it up. If you change I think the gumpart file to the old one, it'll work fine with older clients. Newer clients can use either of them.

Will POL ever have support for that new secure trading ? Or it's just a script that needs to be edited ?

well on my tests, as long as basically everyone uses a newer client, everything is fine.

Yup; it's a problem with differences in client files versions. I also think that there might have been a possible issue related to a server file in there, but I might just be remembering things wrong... a tile data change or something? I dunno.. that doesn't really strike me as being correct, now that I type it 'out loud'...

Secure Trade Window tests:
Server POL096 release version
Trading between v2 and v2 client is fine. Full functionality
Trading between v4 and v4 client is fine. Full functionality
If a v2 client initiates a trade with a v4 client, they can both add items to the windows but only if they target the existing item in the window. It's not a serious problem, all you have to do is remember to drop additional items on top of the existing ones.
If a v4 client initiates a trade with a v2 client, the v2 client cannot add anything at all to the window.
I use identical tiledata and gump mul files in all tests.
The conclusion is that you simply have to standardise on a client.
v5 was not tested. I don't recommend mixing v5 together with v4 / v2 clients on the same shard.
