What I'm trying to do...

When you set someone's murdercount to 1, so their name is red on screen, they can hunt, yet will loose virtue unless they kill blue titled MOBs. However, we've yet to create a new AI so that Blues will attack Red titled chars.

My question...

Which file can I edit so that when a player with a murdercount hunts any normal NPC such as pirates, ettins, or so forth They will not lose virtue, but gain like any normal blue titled player. I think once I get the proper file to open up, I can add the scripting. But I am using the Sanctuary Core files. Thanks for any and all help.

Unless you have made some significant changes to the way virtue is handled, it should already do that. With the Sanctuary scripts, there is no "negative virtue" for the titles, there is merely a set of "negative virtue titles", which are still based on positive virtue. To set someone as using the negative titles, you use the .titleflag and target the player.

So long as none of your other scripts remove virtue for actions, this should work for you. IF you do have other areas of the scripts that do remove virtue, you will need to add checks for the "negVirtue" property on the player. If they have this property, then they are using the negative title set, and you can change whether or not to remove or add virtue accordingly.

EDIT: If you want them to automatically use the negative titles when they get set with a murdercount, in the code that sets their murdercount, add some code to add the "negVirtue" property to the player and then call SetNonOrderTitle() to reset their displayed title.

I use this same script set, but I modified alot of it along the way.

I scripted up a NPC that will let the characters set their virtue track back and forth x number of times. Then it takes the staff out of having to do this for everyone when they change their minds. All they do is set or remove one c-prop that determines the type of titles they want to use.
