I had a crash after save. Now when I try to run POL.exe it halts.
Logfile says:
Code:
Reading data files:
data/accounts.txt:.. 2381 elements in 266 ms.
Error!
'data/objects.ndt exists. This probably means the system
exited while writing its state. To avoid loss of data,
forcing human intervention.
Server Shutdown: reading data
Execution aborted due to: Human intervention required.
When pol does a world save it does it in several stages.
The presence of ndt files means it crashed during the first part of a world save before it completed the sequence of removing the old bak file, renaming txt to bak and then renaming ndt to txt.
If pol tries to start and finds an ndt file it aborts because it knows there is going to be a problem with the data.
If you have a complete set of files with the same timestamp, whether txt or ndt files, (with the exception of accounts.txt) you can rename the ndt file to txt file and see if it will load. It's unlikely though because if it crashed writing an ndt file it will probably be shorter than the bak file.
Apart from accounts.txt, it is important that all your files have the same timestamp. If not, then you will have to rename all your bak files to txt files and restart (keep the latest accounts.txt file - it's saved more often) Unfotunately that means you will have a timewarp, but it's unavoidable.

its best not to load with the ndt files since even if you have every one of them, one of them might not be complete. Just delete the ndt files and there should still be a set of txt files that were from the last worldsave.
