I downloaded and installed 096 core and 095/096 distro, but when I tried to run POL.exe, it opens, loads all the scripts really fast, then closes immediately. I am very very new at this and know I must be missing something very simple, but I have no clue what. Can someone please help me?

First thing is open the start.log file in \pol\log. Near the end of that file (last few lines) will be the error that is causing POL to crash during start-up. If you can't figure out the problem from that info then post the error lines from that file here and we'll help you out.

That file does not exist. There is only the one file in my log folder and it is script.log. That is what I posted above.. sorry. However, I cannot find a file named start.log anywhere.
Thanks! It appears that I didn't something I should have, or I did something wrong.. here is the error message:
Error reading configuration file regions/ore.cfg:
Realm not found
Element: Region Background, found on line 144
Server Shutdown: load_resource_cfg
Execution aborted due to: Configuration file error

"Realm not found"
Did you go through uoconvert.txt yet? Apparently ore.cfg is listing information for realms you don't have. This is usually due to not running all of the commands through uoconvert successfully.

Thank you so very very much for helping... I forgot to delete the .em files from the scripts folder and recompile. It loads fine now. Thanks again to everyone!

hmm... ok... You might have fixed the configuration error at some other point then because that error you got had nothing to do with the .em and .ecl files... But yes, make sure if you ever change core versions that you overwrite every existing file with the ones that come within that core's zip even if they seem to be the same in every way. Then delete every .ecl file in your POL path and recompile.
