Ok im having major issues..
We use 2.0.0 client on 096
(We tried latest version, and a v4 but neither worked, they got stuck at "connecting")
And my friend gets black holed almost every time he logs in, I usually move him to the green area so he can log in, plus he crashes a lot.

The areas that he logs into don't have a lot/if any items there(besides map-built in ones) because there are currently no vendors, monsters, etc.

If someone could explain to me how I can use a later client version or how I might fix this, or what..



Just so you know, I never get black holed(I crash randomly but that doesn't bother me) and we use the same client.(Not just ver but the exact client)

That sort of thing happened to me a lot when using the 2.0.0 client. Sometimes if you looked at the computer just the right way, it would work. My friend's computer worked fine sometimes, sometimes it didn't, mine almost always worked sometimes, unless I was at his house, etc... I'm very glad I don't use 2.0.0 but I still miss it sometimes.

If I were you, I'd continue trying to get the v4 clients to work. If you're using the v4 clients, make sure the client has encryption removed with UORICE and POL is running without encryption. I know in 097 port 5002 has encryption for clients 2.0.0 while port 5003 has none, you might want to check this too (in your uo\login.txt).

I did that, but It gets stuck at "connecting".


Any ideas how to get past the connecting box? It can connect but when I select a shard It gets stuck there.

Check your uoclient.cfg for that option. If you're using a client higher than 4.0.0d remove that option or set it to zero if it exists.
