Note to Tek,

I wasn't sure where Scintilla originated. I knew of Scite that Etherria had made available for download. Didn't know that Scite was infact Scintilla. Thought it was a work written around Scintilla. My apologies to Scintilla developers for the error.

For those interested here is the Scintilla website: http://www.scintilla.org/

It should be noted that from there you can find a link to download Scite and in the escript properties file which comes with the official Scintilla release of Scite there is this reference to where the ecompile.exe resides:
# the directory of the ecompile.exe
ECOMPILEHOME=C:\Daten\Code\CVS Workspace\etheria-pol095\scripts

So it is easy to see how one could assume that Scite was the product of the developers at Etheria Shard.

Yukiko:
It's an understandable misconception! Smile I didn't understand your sentence because I assumed you knew Scite was from Scintilla. I'd mention something vague yet insightful about how I wish some people around the forums were more helpful and friendly and less condescending but that could insight some cleverly written half-page post with quotes, bolds and italics proving how stupid I am. Cool

Yes, portable is good. I used to think I was the only one that was weird about having an installer for something that I really just wanted to run for a few minutes to test it out. It's kind of a hassle to uninstall stuff, that and I don't know how through the uninstaller is. "Is it leaving the files on my computer? Is it leaving registry keys too?", and I don't know exactly what files/keys it's installing either. I remember when I found out I wasn't alone, too. I think it was Yukiko who was saying something about some other software like "It's good because it's just an .exe" Razz

Yup, potrable is very nice and clever ;] As i said before it isn't so hard to make softare to be compatibile with it. So eScripter will be portable ;]

Also don't worry about eScripter, there is unistall program. But especially for you I'll check if he can clean all files he maked with the next release of beta Wink

huh ;[

I'm not sure what do you mean MuadDib because i've found 3 meaning of condescending and 10 of rude in my dictionary. All of them says that you think I'm exalting above others and I'm scoffing from you all.

I'm sorry i think it's my english ;[ I just wanted to be helpful (maybe not for you - POL EScript masters, dev masters lateva) for those which have troubles with using notepad and cmd fo scripting, and I just wanted to ensure them to know that the eScripter project won't be closed till POL live. That's all.

Again I'm sorry if I hurt someone, and again apologize for my english. To avoid further misunderstanging me I'll just shut up my mouth :X and I'll concetrate on eScripter developing.

And this is important... why? OH! You think I *care* whether or not the molasses-fed devs here listen to ME? Ahhh... gotcha. Let me disabuse you of any such notion: I don't. In fact, I don't recall really ever talking to you in the first place. If I'm not talking to you, I sure don't care if you are listening.

And anyway, it's clear who the devs listen to around here already, and maybe someone can guess that's why the emulator is headed for the crap pot... where almost four-year-old client features aren't supported yet, the "Distro Developers" can't do crap while some poster off the street posts an almost complete 096 distro converted from 095, and the most active posters here have about a 50% chance of posting something correct when they do.

New people coming here see a huge mess of incompetence. Maybe someone needs to shake up things some until that gets fixed.

First things first. Incompetence is everywhere, you prove that. Incompetence does not cover just knowledge. Your lack of tact, lack of being able to reply to a general post without shooting off at the fingers so to speak, shows not just your own incompetence... but the fact you should go elsewhere.

I fail to remember the last time I personally, or Austin for that matter, listened to anyone period. Core work is done as the devs have the time, and as we can do what we feel needs done at the time. If you feel it's as you say, then go elsewhere to use a different emulator. You definitely will not like what is here.

In regards to Distro...... do me a favor. Write your own scriptbase, from scratch, and then come back before you bother posting. With the above, and Distro, I think that is what all you need to do. Continue on with the current attitude and posts, and you might find the posts never see the light of day.

And on that note, read a thread before you bother posting in reply to something that was a reply in general, NOT TO YOU OR ANY ONE SPECIFIC PERSON. You just earned a one way ticket to the trash can in my book, and probably a lot of other people's. All because you fail to grasp the concept of that. I don't care one way, or the other. About you, or any other person who posts on this forum. If you think I might care, you are sadly mistaken. I have as much regret about removing someone's posts and account for sneezing wrong, as someone who tries to hack a server I run. Don't try my patience.

I'm not sure what is going on here, but i'm sure it's a huge off topic blablablabling. So please stop it right now, or take the devs a side and shake them there.

Now about eScripter... It's portable now Wink I'm sure that help to test him. In this week i'll release new beta with a lot of bugfixes and few new features, just after I clean up messy code which I maked while taking heavy mind damage from "codefolding" algorithm.

Nice, will check it out this weekend as I get time. Got some stuff to do, including a nice rewrite of things. Might have to use your editor to do it, just for the testing Smile
